Next.js is a web framework built on React and maintained by Vercel. It bundles server-side rendering, static generation, the App Router, API routing, image optimization, and a bundler into one package.

It is the default choice today for production React applications — from landing pages to large portals. The trade-off is the framework’s rapid evolution and a soft pull toward the Vercel ecosystem.
